Welcome to GarageStyle Mixed Martial Arts (GSMMA)!
Home Page
GSMMA is founded on the principle of being a complete practitioner.  As popular as Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) are today, GSMMA is founded on the philosophy of the "original" mixed martial artist, Bruce Lee.  Known as Jeet Kune Do, or JKD, this philosophy embodies the idea that no one martial art is complete, and that one should strive to incorporate and study the strengths of as many fighting and self-defense systems as possible to be a truly well-rounded practitioner.

To learn more about the underiding priciples of GSMMA, as well as the various arts studied, please see the About Us and Philosophy pages.  And remember, everyone and anyone is welcome at GSMMA.

The Jeet Kune Do Emblem
The
Taijitu represents the concepts of yin and yang. The Chinese characters indicate: "Using no way as way" & "Having no limitation as limitation." The arrows represent the endless interaction between yang and yin.

GSMMA Feedback

"Also, want to let you know that GSMMA is having a positive impact on his self-esteem.  His 9 year old cousin was over this weekend and he asked him to show him some GSMMA moves.  He took him to the ground lickity split (several times with several different moves) and needless to say his cousin will not be messing with him again.

It was amazing to see that he is learning and that in the “real” world he is applying the skills that you are teaching him!!!

I appreciate your taking time with the kids."

Thanks, Marc, for the great feedback.

Please feel free to provide GSMMA with feedback, positive or constructive, anytime.

I Want to Learn Martial Arts for Self-Defense

While it's true that the very meaning of martial art is "of, relating to, or suggestive of war," there is much more to be gained by becoming a practictioner of martials arts than harming others.  In fact, the better the martial artist the least likely that individual will become involved in an altercation.
